To all Sisterlocks⢠business owners,
I have an idea for advertising your business by making folks aware of
Sisterlocksā¢. A few years ago, my husband and I were involved with the local
cable access channel in our area called Community Access. They allowed any
subject matter to be taped as long as it was within broadcast restrictions.
In our area, a lot of the arts & crafts, how-to-?, and local happenings were
taped and broadcast in a specific time frame a few times a week. They did not
allow direct advertising of a specific business (never hurts to ask, though)
but, it is a way to get the Sisterlocks⢠name and idea in your local area. By
doing so, hopefully, to make Sisterlocks⢠a household word. I get tired of
people asking me if I have dreads!
If you can get the name Sisterlocks⢠in peoples' mouths, then undoubtedly,
SOME of them will come seeking you out if you are easy to find (phone book,
flyers, church bulletin boards, local businesses you patronize, etc.) Post
the URL for LockItUp@... along with your info so you will, hopefully,
get an informed consumer.
The only requirement back then was to take a few courses, which were on the
job training, on how to 1. plan and market a program, 2. set up & operate
lighting and camera equipment, 3. set up the stage, 4. operationg editing &
CG equipment 5. final editing and copying of the final product before 6.
selecting a time slot for broadcasting.
My husband and I came away with newfound skills and a different kind of
respect for any type of professionally taped or filmed production - be it a
commercial, a short film or a feature length movie.
The way to find out is to check with your local cable company to see if this
option/program is available in your area. Matter of fact, I'm going to call
ours in the morning to see if it is still active where we live. You'd be
surprised to find out who watches the local access channels!
I like the ideas in recent posts of discounts for initial clients. Having
gone through the intial fees of getting Sisterlockedā¢, I find the most
appealing thing to me right now is a flat fee for retightenings and a
consultant close to home.
I don't want to sound like I'm slamming and don't want to get slammed either
but, you may find that for many of your customers, getting over the financial
shock of the initial locking session is well overshadowed by the subsequent
frequency of retightenings and the fees associated with them.
Just my twenty five cents worth.
